Change course or Steady as she goes? The Helm is a lonely place.

13 Jun

Heavy weather on the way. Have to check things belowdecks and topside, then it’s back to the helm for the long watch coming.

Wherever your ships are bound, may you all have smooth sailing and following seas.

My view was always curved the steel hull and spinning shafts of the engine room of our submarine. We went under heavy weather. Not so easy now (for me). Need foul good foul weather gear.

Remind you of your barge? D.

      • Sandra June 13, 2012 at 4:01 pm #

I think that would take a great deal more handling than our barge does.

Mercy. What an intimidating picture. I think you can weather it though.

Quite a photo, Doug. I’m amazed at how calm the water is. You’re not going to try and make me write something funny from this picture, are you? I”m already pretty close to the edge . . . .

    Were you really there?
That must have been a spectacular view!
The moment when one feels humbled by the force of nature!

    And Amen! 🙂

      Dear Parul,

Always underwater for me. Submarines have the luxury of traveling in three dimensions. They dive, dive, dive.
